Bactrian Camels, known for their two humps, store fat in them for sustenance during scarcity. Once the fat is used up, the humps droop. These camels can gulp down 30 gallons of water in just 13 minutes when thirsty. They typically live for about 50 years, growing up to 7 feet tall at the hump, and can weigh up to 1800 pounds. Groups of Bactrian Camels are referred to as Flocks or Caravans. Their nostrils close to prevent sand inhalation, and long, bushy eyelashes shield their eyes from blowing sand, demonstrating their exceptional environmental adaptation. Large, flat footpads help them avoid sinking in sand and protect against rough terrain. It's believed that only around 1000 Bactrian Camels remain in the wild, primarily in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia and China, with the rest being domesticated or in zoos.
