Genuine Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey Barrel Lid/Head

This is a lid/head from a Kentucky Bourbon barrel. It will arrive just as it was when it was removed. There will be the beautiful charcoal on the bottom. The top will have the wear that developed on the wood as it ages in the distillery. There may be some stamping on the top but that will vary from lid to lid. They will need to be reinforced in order to stay securely together due to the drying of them after the bourbon is removed since they will sometimes twist and shrink.

• Don't buy until you read: These lids are tongue and groove. They are not glued together. Again, they are N O T glued together. They will need to have a backerboard attached or glued to stay together. They are just as they were when they were taken off the barrel. They will probably slightly seperete during shipping. Simply put them back together if this happens and use a mallet to get them tight again.
• These are just as they were when they were taken from the barrel. There is a nice charcoal on the bottom from the charring process required for aging bourbon.
• They may not be perfectly flat due to the swelling and contracting that takes place as the Bourbon moves in and out of the wood and as it dries after being removed from the barrel.
• They are made with tongue and groove so each piece fits together. Since glue is horrible for the whiskey, there have not been glued together. They may need to be glued or attached to a backerboard in order to keep them all together. They are held together by tongue and groove and will probably be seperated a little during shipping since they are not glued together. Please understand that these lids are not fresh from the factory, perfectly clean, flat, smooth, tight, etc. They are from a barrel that was just to hold whiskey for at least one year. They will show signs of aging.
