The Honduras rosewood used for the wooden shaft is a legume. It is native to Central America, including Honduras, Panama, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. The average height is 6m to 15m, and the diameter is 40cm to 60cm. It features a variety of grain patterns and colors, including bamboo-like grain, red bean grain, and fine, bubble-like grain.
