ga.la (Gala) Designer Profile
Born in Osaka in 1971. Graduated from the Printmaking Department of Saga Art Junior College.
After working as a copperplate printmaker and textile designer, she became involved in her family's embroidery business.
In addition to solo and group exhibitions featuring her unique embroidery works that make use of organic lines, she is widely active, exploring "what can be done with embroidery" through the production and sale of clothing and bags, the creation of collaborative goods with companies, and event planning.
She launched the embroidery accessory brand ga.la (Gala) in 2015.
This is a canvas boston bag with an embroidered design by Kuniko Nagano.
As it was left unused by my aunt, there are stains and the embroidery is loose (photos 10 and 11). For those who are fans of Ms. Nagano and can sew, I hope you will consider remaking it, such as by removing the stains or dyeing it.
As shown in photo 6, the inside of the bag is clean.
