Street Rod Adjustable Proportioning Valve And Residual Valve Kit For Disc And Drum Brakes For: often utilized in disc/drum, disc/disc and drum/drum braking systems. The valve is used to control front-to-rear brake pressure bias and will work for all types of vehicles. The Adjustable Proportioning valve is typically used to decrease the pressure to the rear brakes. When converting to a dual master or disc brakes the rear drums require less pressure and this valve is put in the front to rear brake line to reduce the pressure to the rear brakes. The Residual Valve is typically used on the disc or drum brake lines, Disc hold 2 lbs and drum Holds 10 lbs of pressure. This valve is mounted in the brake line when the master cylinder is located below the floor or the calipers or valves are higher than the master cylinders. The function of the valve is to prevent the back flow of fluid to the master cylinder and keep a small amount of pressure in the line. Used in modified cars and street rods and customs. The valve has pipe thread fitting in the ends that accepts the common 3/8-24 inverted flare brake line fitting. It can also be used in the front brake lines to reduce pressure. Pressure adjustments range 100-1000 PSI and provide for a maximum decrease of 57% in line pressure. This adjustment lets you fine tune the front to rear braking balance by proportionately decreasing the rear (or in some cases the front) brake line pressure. This can also be used to adjust individual front wheel braking in circle track applications. It comes with the 1/8" pipe to 3/8-24 inverted flare fittings to connect to brake lines.
