The Sd.Kfz. 251, a WW2 German armored personnel carrier, was developed by Hanomag from its Sd.Kfz. 11. Primarily, it transported Panzergrenadiers into battle. It was the most produced German half-track, with four main models: Ausf A to D. The earlier versions A, B, and C had around 4650 units built from 1939 to 1943. However, the Ausf.D production was significantly larger, with 10,602 units built between 1943 and 1945.
