"JOAN" is a loose straight with a wide leg from the thigh to the hem. It's designed to give the impression of a woman wearing men's wide jeans. To create a more masculine look, the crotch is intentionally made longer, and the yoke width and back pockets are enlarged. It makes the waist look smaller and makes the wearer appear slender. Also, the volume doesn't spread sideways, but falls from the height of the hips, so there's no awkwardness in the back view.
